TOS did a recent update and I had some issues. Here's what TOS had me do to fix my issues with speed and freezing...

1) close out of thinkorswim
2) right click on tos icon
3) left click on properties
4) left click on button labeled find target
5) locate folder usergui, and right click on it
6) then left click on delete , and confirm deletion,
7) close all windows and dbl click on tos icon to login, but before you login...
8) click the options button below and make min and max memory 256 and 512 respectively, then click save and login.

I agree with the comments. I just switched to TOS from Tradestation. The community around TOS is fantastic for folks trying to find the groove. The customer support has been great so far. We have got to get TOS to recreate "The Matrix" that Tradestation has though. That is the most intuitive trading tool I have ever seen. Still not enough to get me to overlook the crappy attitudes and support that you get with Tradestation.

That's the one thing holding me back from TOS. I need my dom ladder to trade effectively, it's just so easy.
Now TS "matrix" was supposed to be very buggy and that was blamed for many bad fills. Not sure how true that was though.

I read comments on another list about your "dom ladder" and trying to recreate that using Thinkscript. Is Thinkscript powerful enough to allow us to create that tool?

I found the Matrix to work most of the time, however I got double filled a couple of times and also had some problems with trailing stops not trailing in the UI. The explanation I got from support staff was "it does that sometimes". That was the final straw and why I moved to TOS platform.

Someone else was talking coding it. I don't think it would be something we could do really. Too much involved plus you'd end up needing to pay a royalty to the dom ladder creator.

For the record I can't code anything cause I don't know crap on that stuff. LOL

love TOS for the most part, recently the grains charts have been all screwed up but they told me they are working on a fix. and yes i too would like for them to make it more scalper friendly on the order entry side.

Okay guys, saturday morning TOS will put out a new update here are some of the new features/changes

Back-testing: thinkBack gives you the ability to see historical option quote data, enter simulated trades based on those quotes, then track the p/l and greeks of that trade over time.

User Interface: new menu bar, new header names and new tab driven Watch List controls.

Scans: Intraday Sizzle index extrapolated to full day value to show expected Sizzle index at end of day.

Futures: There are six new futures contracts available including Soybean Oil, Nikkei 225 and LIBOR.

TOS Charts: Theoretical price charts for options (still in beta), pairs charting and new chart scroll tools when maximizing the Chart Grid.

...and according to the tech department the wheat charts will also be fixed

I'm happy with TOS.

On my wishlist would be to improve order entry. Either a dom ladder as suggested by MC or a preferences area where you could enter your stops, moving your stops as you scale out, and your scale out orders. All to be placed automatically when you enter a position. In addition a button to buy atmkt, one to sell at mkt, and one to flatten your position. I like the order entry in the Trade the Market videos they use. I think it might be Infinity AT platform.

It would make it so much easier and less hectic when your taking a trade.

edit: Oh, and the capability to set up any size tick charts, not just 2 currently available.

i agree with you gtcramer. InfinityAT is the platform you are talking about. When scalping i like to use infinityAT while using TOS charts. More tick chart options is needed. I think TOS will become more aware of these issues when they begin trading the DOT futures.
